CFO salary in Indonesia runs from IDR 150 million to IDR 250 million a month in Adecco Indonesia's 2026 guide, as gross pay reported by detikFinance. That is about USD 8,259 to USD 13,766 at the Bank Indonesia JISDOR rate of 2 November 2026. A CFO employed at IDR 200 million costs the company about IDR 2.71 billion a year before any bonus.
What is the CFO salary in Indonesia?
The named sources we could read put a CFO or top finance role between IDR 130 million and IDR 250 million a month. These are each publisher's own ranges, and neither is government data.
| Source | Role | Figure | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adecco Indonesia 2026, via detikFinance | Chief Financial Officer | IDR 150–250 million | Gross monthly |
| Adecco Indonesia 2026, via detikFinance | Director of Finance | IDR 130–250 million | Gross monthly |
| Michael Page 2026 | Finance Director | IDR 170 million, higher range | Table says annual, text says monthly |
We read the Michael Page figure as monthly because the text says "monthly salaries", but the table header disagrees, so confirm it with the publisher before you rely on it. In simple terms, the Adecco range is the firmest figure available today, and Michael Page is a useful cross-check.

Why do published CFO figures differ so much?
Published figures differ because they measure different things, and most salary tools do not say whom they surveyed. The online calculators that rank for this search can sit far below the recruiter guides, and some describe remote roles or estimates built from national income data.
We do not quote those tools here, because we cannot check their sample or their method. In practice, ask three questions of any number before you use it.
- Who is covered? A CFO of a listed group and the finance lead of a small company can hold the same title, yet they do different jobs.
- What period is it? Michael Page's list shows why this matters, since the same figure is labelled both annual and monthly.
- What is included? Adecco's figures are gross monthly pay, and detikFinance does not report any breakdown of bonus or equity.
We found no named source that separates Jakarta CFO pay from the national figure, so we give no Jakarta-only range. Put simply, treat these ranges as national and test them against companies like yours.
What does a CFO cost in USD?
A CFO employed at IDR 150 million to IDR 250 million costs about USD 112,032 to USD 186,415 a year before bonus. The table converts at the JISDOR rate of IDR 18,161 per US dollar on 2 November 2026, so the USD figures will move with the rupiah.
| Gross per month | In USD | Statutory cost per month | Total per year | Total in USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IDR 150,000,000 | 8,259 | IDR 7,050,948 | IDR 2,034,611,376 | 112,032 |
| IDR 200,000,000 | 11,013 | IDR 9,170,948 | IDR 2,710,051,376 | 149,224 |
| IDR 250,000,000 | 13,766 | IDR 11,290,948 | IDR 3,385,491,376 | 186,415 |
The total is 13 months of pay plus 12 months of employer contributions. It uses the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan rates of 3.7% for old-age savings (JHT), 0.3% for death cover (JKM), 0.24% for the lowest work-accident tier (JKK), and 2% for pension (JP) up to a wage cap of IDR 10,547,400. It also adds BPJS Kesehatan at 4% on a wage capped at IDR 12 million and the religious holiday allowance (THR) of one month's wage.
We apply the IDR 10,547,400 cap only to JP, because the BPJS page places the note there, and we treat wage as equal to gross pay. In simple terms, statutory contributions add under 5% of pay at this level, so bonus and benefits will move the budget far more. The line-by-line working is in our guide to BPJS employer contributions.
How much does a CFO keep after tax?
As a rough guide, a single CFO earning in this range keeps about 72% to 74% of a 13-month package after income tax. Indonesia's progressive rates under UU HPP reach 30% between IDR 500 million and IDR 5 billion of taxable income, and the non-taxable allowance for a single person with no dependants (TK/0) is IDR 54 million.
| Gross per month | 13 months | Rough tax a year | Left after tax | Share kept |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IDR 150,000,000 | IDR 1,950,000,000 | IDR 512,800,000 | IDR 1,437,200,000 | 73.7% |
| IDR 200,000,000 | IDR 2,600,000,000 | IDR 707,800,000 | IDR 1,892,200,000 | 72.8% |
| IDR 250,000,000 | IDR 3,250,000,000 | IDR 902,800,000 | IDR 2,347,200,000 | 72.2% |
This is a simplified sum on 13 months of pay less IDR 54 million. It leaves out the job-expense deduction, the worker's own contributions, and employer-paid premiums that can enter the tax base, so payroll will produce a different number. Put simply, use this table to explain the order of magnitude to a candidate, but use a tax adviser for the offer itself.
Monthly withholding also looks different from the annual result. A DJP employee's article on PP 58/2023 explains that the monthly average rate (TER) does not change the year's total for a permanent employee, because the final calculation still uses the Article 17 rates. In practice, the December payslip can look quite different from the other eleven, so tell a new CFO this before their first year end.
What changes if the CFO sits on the board or comes from abroad?
If the shareholders' meeting (RUPS) appoints the CFO as a director, the cost table may not apply. Hukumonline explains that a director appointed by the RUPS has a corporate relationship and not an employment one, and so the holiday allowance rule for workers does not automatically cover that director. In simple terms, the shareholders or the board of commissioners decide what that CFO receives, rather than the employment rules.
A foreign CFO adds a compensation fund charge if the company must pay it. Employers of foreign workers pay DKPTKA of US$100 per position, per person, per month under Permenaker 8/2021, which is about IDR 1,816,100 a month at the rate above. We read this from a partial summary of the regulation, so check whether your case is payable. Put simply, the charge is small against a CFO's pay, and the larger question is usually the wider package.
Employment rules are also changing. Indonesia's manpower ministry says the new UU Pelindungan Ketenagakerjaan has a one-year transition from promulgation, and we found no official text as of 3 November 2026. This guide therefore uses the rules in force today, and you should review it once the text is published.
How should you price a CFO offer?
Start with the scope of the role, set the range next, and discuss numbers with candidates last. This order makes the offer easy to defend to shareholders, and the steps below are our working suggestion rather than survey findings.
- Write the scope. Decide whether the role runs treasury, tax and investor relations, or mainly reporting, and then pick the CFO or Director of Finance row.
- Set a ceiling. Use the published range as a starting point, and note your reason for going outside it.
- Separate the parts. List salary, bonus, allowances and benefits apart, so that you compare like with like against gross-pay guides.
- Total the cost. Use the table above, and then add your bonus and benefits.
- Check your wage structure. Employers must keep a wage structure and scale under PP 36/2021 Article 21, as amended by PP 49/2025, so test what the new number does to the roles below it.
In simple terms, a CFO salary that sits far outside your structure will show up in a document you are required to maintain.

FAQ
How much is a CFO salary in Indonesia?
Adecco Indonesia's 2026 guide puts a Chief Financial Officer at IDR 150 million to IDR 250 million a month, as gross pay reported by detikFinance. That is about USD 8,259 to USD 13,766 at the JISDOR rate of 2 November 2026. This is one publisher's range, so test it against companies of a similar size and sector.
Are CFO salary figures in Indonesia monthly or annual?
Adecco's figures are monthly, because the guide says they represent gross monthly pay. Michael Page's list is less clear, since its table header says annual while its text says monthly for the same IDR 170 million Finance Director figure. We read that figure as monthly, but you should confirm it with the publisher before you use it.
Does the CFO range include bonus?
detikFinance reports Adecco's figures as gross monthly pay, and it gives no breakdown of bonus, equity or benefits. Treat those as separate items until you confirm otherwise. Our cost table covers only 13 months of pay and statutory contributions, so add any bonus, allowances and benefits yourself when you work out the full budget for the role.
What income tax does a CFO pay in Indonesia?
Rates under UU HPP rise in steps from 5% to 35%, and 30% applies to taxable income between IDR 500 million and IDR 5 billion. On our simplified sum, a single CFO keeps about 72% to 74% of a 13-month package at IDR 150 million to IDR 250 million a month. Payroll will calculate the exact amount for each person.
What does it cost to employ a CFO in USD?
At IDR 200 million a month, our example comes to about USD 149,224 a year, using the JISDOR rate of IDR 18,161 on 2 November 2026. That covers 13 months of pay plus employer contributions, without bonus or benefits. The rupiah figure is the fixed one, so the USD figure will change as the exchange rate moves.
